If Professional Engineers want to work according to Article 3 of the Professional Engineers Act, they can run their own offices registering with the Minister of Science and Technology according to Article 6 of the Professional Engineers Act. They can design, investigation, research, diagnose and evaluation in relation to industry and technology fields through the offices. Now there are around 1,300 Professional Engineers Offices in Korea as of 30th June 2007.
Administration of the establishment and the registration of Professional Engineers Offices has been entrusted to KPEA by the Minister of Science and Technology. Also KPEA supports Professional Engineers Offices Committee.
Every February 26 is Professional EngineerĄ¯s Day (Since 2002). KPEA is celebrating this date to encourage professional engineers, with various events including the highest level seminar and government rewarding ceremonies.
KPEA administers the database management of Professional EngineerĄ¯s work experiences, International Registered Professional Engineers, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Professional Engineers Offices.
KPEA holds Korea and Japan Professional Engineers Joint Symposium with the institution of Professional Engineers, Japan every year by visiting each country to exchange technical skills and promote good relations since 1971
